Drone Video Goes Live with GoPro and Periscope

Bring on the insane live-video aerial shots

January 27, 2016

Have a GoPro camera attached to your UAS? Good news – you can now broadcast live video with Periscope. This integration will allow users a more creative way to showcase video, according to a GoPro news release.

Plus it’s easy to use. Just toggle between the iPhone camera and GoPro directly from the touch screen to monitor the cameras. Your GoPro will broadcast live and record onto the camera’s micro SD card, so you can still edit the GoPro footage later.

Periscope is a live-streaming app that has over 10 million users. The live-videos can be shared directly to your Twitter timeline, thanks to Periscope’s recent partnership with Twitter.

Just think of all the aerial shots that can be shared in real-time.

Live broadcast functionality is currently only available for iOS users, but can be viewed using any platform. Also, only GoPro HERO4 Black or Silver camera models can be used.
